About The Position

Experience in pediatric medical-surgical nursing.

Ability to administer medications and perform various nursing skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to float to other units as necessary.

Description :

Position available for a Registered Nurse in the Pediatrics specialty.

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of overall nursing experience.

First-time travelers are accepted for this position.

Locals are not accepted.

Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.

Guaranteed hours include 36 hours in one workweek with three 12-hour shifts.

Float required to other units or affiliate hospitals.

Educational background must be accredited by a recognized institution at the time of graduation.

Two supervisor references are required.

Floating is required of all travelers.

Any previous permanent or PRN employee must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler.

All candidates must complete modules prior to starting.

Modules will be non-billable.

Travelers must follow all policies related to submission and compliance.

Candidates are expected to maintain a daily patient ratio of 4.

Daily census in the unit is approximately 20 patients.

Eligible patient demographics include adolescents, infants, and pediatric patients.

Additional unit information includes interdisciplinary support services and various patient diagnoses.

All candidates must adhere to infection prevention protocols and patient care guidelines.

Strong skills in pediatric nursing are necessary for success in this role.
