Associate Engineer

Position Title : Associate Engineer Location : Onsite - Multiple locations (Wilmington, NC / Dunwoody, GA / Grand Rapids, Muskegon / Fremont, Traverse City, Boyne City, and Benzonia in MI) Duration : 06 months (Contract to hire) Pay Range : $27 / hr - $30 / hr Associate Distribution Engineer – Overview Support the design and construction of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems (4kV–138kV) under the supervision of a technical lead. Prepare detailed engineering work packages, perform structural and electrical calculations (pole loading, guying, conductor sag, voltage drop), and develop permitting documents. Conduct site inspections, ensure compliance with safety and design standards, and provide technical support during and after construction. Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from an ABET-accredited program; proficiency in MS Office; ability to travel for fieldwork; strong communication and teamwork skills. Preferred : Experience with tools such as BOUD, Pole Foreman, SOCKET, Spida-Calc, CAD / MicroStation, GIS, and knowledge of NESC and utility design standards.
