The Surgical Patient Care Associate is a multi-skilled staff member who supports team members under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include applying principles of infection control in the OR using proper standards to clean ORs, demonstrating knowledge of exposure control policies in preparation and transport of bio hazardous materials, applying knowledge of correct surgical attire, assisting OR staff with safe transfer and positioning of patients, delivering specimens, linen, supplies, messages, etc. to the appropriate location, and assisting with obtaining or returning equipment to its proper location. Dons sterile gloves to assist in limb holding during surgical skin asepsis.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma / GED Required, 1 year of previous patient care experience required, previous Periop experience preferred, and BLS required through AHA.
