Description

Position Summary : The Counselor III provides compassionate and trauma-informed mental health and addiction counseling services. This position will primarily serve clients who have been referred through the HOPE Program.

Education, Training and Experience :

• Master's degree in psychology, social work or behavioral science field is required.
• Ability to register with MHACBO as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-R) or ability to obtain and maintain active status with an eligible state licensing board.
• Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in substance abuse counseling preferred. Experience in mental health counseling and provision of clinical services for persons with dual diagnoses.
• Skilled in provision of individual and group counseling using respect and compassion.
• Knowledge of criminal behavior and at-risk populations.
• Knowledge of engagement challenges with a mandated population and skills to engage mandated clients.
• Experience in mental health counseling and clinical services for persons with dual diagnoses.
