The nurse will provide safe, competent, quality care based on nursing theory, research, and evidence-based practice to critically ill cardiac patients. Strong collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and adherence to Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care principles are essential. The unit operates on a Modified Primary Nursing Care Delivery Model with an average census of 17 patients. Weekend coverage is required.\nCertifications & Requirements\n\nRN License : New York State RN license required\nExperience : Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Post Open Heart and Cardiac Care Units\nCertifications : \n
• BLS required\n
• ACLS required\n
• BSN preferred (Associate Degree with experience considered)\n
• EPIC experience highly preferred\n
• Travel experience of 1 year preferred\nSkills & Competencies\n
• Competency in cardiac and post-surgical critical care nursing\n
• Ability to manage patient care using critical thinking and evidence-based practice\n
• Skilled in patient and family education, communication, and advocacy\n
• Experience with Modified Primary Nursing care model and resource management\n
• Ability to perform charge nurse duties as needed\n
• Proficient documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards\n
