About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in Stepdown in an acute care setting is required

License : Current and valid nursing license required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS preferred, NIHSS preferred

Must-Have :

• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips.
• Experience managing drips, including Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, lasix, and heparin.
• Ability to work as needed on holidays and weekends.
• Must have a flexible schedule for shift assignments.
• Must adhere to dress code policies.

Description :

This position requires a Registered Nurse with experience in a Stepdown unit.

The RN will care for patients recovering from cardiovascular surgeries and procedures.

Duties include monitoring cardiac patients and managing various drips and medications.

The unit typically operates with a patient-to-nurse ratio as 1 to 5.

The average census can range from 32 to 38 patients per shift.

This role involves discharging and admitting approximately 12-16 patients during busy days.

The RN may need to float to an ICU but will only care for stepdown patients unless otherwise noted.

Candidates should be comfortable with the fast turnover of rooms and adapting to changing patient needs.

Nurses will be expected to follow strict attendance policies and be agreeable to floating as necessary.

Additional skills, such as the ability to pull pacer wires, are preferred but training will be provided if needed.

Adherence to a strict dress code is required, which includes having natural-colored hair, no fake nails, and no visible tattoos.
