About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Customer Service & Collections Account Specialists to join our Customer Care Operations team. In this role, you’ll handle customer escalations, manage billing inquiries, and support collections efforts for commercial, industrial, and government accounts. This position is fully onsite and requires a strong sense of accountability, professionalism, and customer focus.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Account Management
- Handle complex or escalated customer inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency.
- Respond to customers via phone and email, ensuring clear, respectful communication.
- Accurately document all interactions in the appropriate systems and follow up as required.
- Interface with vendor partners and internal management to resolve customer issues.
Collections & Billing
Contact customers regarding past-due accounts, following up until resolution.Communicate balances and payment requirements clearly and courteously.Manage accounts over 90+ days past due and prepare for final billing or collection transfer.Prioritize and manage workload to minimize write-offs and maximize successful collections.Process Improvement & Documentation
Maintain detailed records of all processes and interactions.Identify inefficiencies or unclear procedures and bring them to management’s attention.Proactively learn and adapt to new tools, processes, and systems to improve effectiveness.Performance & Compliance
Uphold company standards for attendance, punctuality, and quality of work.Follow cybersecurity and data privacy best practices, including proper handling of sensitive customer information.Maintain phishing email click rates below 2.5% and report suspicious activity promptly.Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service, collections, customer accounting, or related field.Proven ability to manage escalated customer situations with tact and professionalism.Experience handling collection activities and working with past-due accounts.Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel .Excellent written and verbal communication skills.High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational ability.Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.High school diploma or equivalent required.
