Position Description : Property Manager

M. Shapiro Real Estate

We are a growing Property Management Company seeking to fill the position of a Property Manager for a Multifamily Community in Detroit, MI. The ideal candidate is a detailed, energetic, self-starter who has excellent sales and customer service skills. Candidates represent the face of the community and as such should be very dependable, organized and strong in resident relations.

JOB DUTIES

\tEnsure residents receive the highest levels of service consistent with the companys Customer Service philosophy.

\tWork with management team to build out and manage a team of leasing superstars and friendly maintenance team.

\tHandle and resolve resident / customer service issues in a timely and professional manner.

\tMaintain properties to ensure they always look their best.

\tDevelop a marketing strategy and maintain effective advertising to attract prospective residents to the community.

\tCoordinate and manage the Rental, leasing, refurbishments, closings, and follow-up.

\tMeet or exceed leasing budgets.

\tManage the rent collection process, including depositing income from home sites and filing to collect on delinquent debts.

\tOversee the eviction process for your community with the assistance of your Regional Manager.

\tMonitor and manage monthly operating budgets and prepare monthly reports on P & L variances.

\tOversee capital expenditure improvements.

\tOther duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

\tAs a Community Manager, you must have a strong business mindset together with the ability to place the highest priority on customer service. Strong organizational, time management and leadership skills are a vital part of your role.

\tHigh school diploma or GED; Bachelors degree in Real Estate, Hospitality or Business, a plus.

\tMinimum of 2 years of property management experience including 2 years of supervisory experience.

\tPrior sales and leasing experience.

\tGeneral knowledge of repair and maintenance duties.

\tSolid negotiation skills.

\tAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

\tThorough knowledge of federal, state and local laws pertaining to fair housing and employment law.

\tComputer proficiency, including the internet and Microsoft Office Suite; experience using property management software preferred (Yardi, Rent Manager).

\tFlexibility to respond to community needs during non-business hours.

\tThe responsibilities of this position are subject to change at any time due to the needs of the business.

$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 Annually
