GENERAL SUMMARY :

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrical Technician with a strong background in electrical systems to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will leverage their electrical and PLC expertise to enhance our manufacturing processes, troubleshoot and repair existing systems, and provision new systems throughout our foundry operations.

RESPONSIBILITIE S :

  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of all plant and equipment electrical systems.
  • Work on plant electrical distribution systems, including motor controls, hydraulics, distribution panels, ducts, disconnects and transformers.
  • Work on complex machine control systems including relay or solid-state logic.
  • Determine sources of problems and take corrective action.
  • Ensure that electrical installations are made in accordance with applicable codes.
  • Wear prescribed safety equipment and observe all safety policies.
  • Conduct tests and simulations to validate designs and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical support and training to foundry staff on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Key lead on design and implementation of structural and facility upgrades and equipment installations.

SKILLS :

  • Must have a working knowledge of 480 volt circuits.
  • Must be capable of reading schematics and troubleshooting existing equipment to facilitate the repair in an effective and safe manner.
  • Must be able to use all standard testing meters and instruments related to this position.
  • Should have 5-7 years of industrial electrical experience.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a continuous basis.
  • QUALIFICIATIONS :

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience troubleshooting 3 phase circuits up to 480 volts.
  • Experience with PLCs and be able to read PLC logic.
  • Proficient with electrical prints.
  • Experience with VFDs.
  • Experience with DC circuits, DC drives, and basic motor control circuits.
  • Proficient with electrical meters and test equipment.
  • Understand basic electrical theory and ohms law.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS :

  • Foundry Environment
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures
  • Exposure to high noise levels
  • Exposure to dirt, dust and fumes
  • Must be able to sit and stand (including on a ladder) for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to use small hand tools, including precision tools.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a continuous basis.
