5 Week Winter Extern Program

Overview :

During your five-week externship, you will have the opportunity to experience working with a preceptor.  You may also choose to shadow in additional departments.  Discover where your passion for nursing is leading you at Mercy!

Qualifications :

This program is open to any unlicensed RN student (cannot have or obtain LPN license before or during the program) who will have completed at least two semesters of nursing school and graduating Spring or Summer 2026.

Certifications : BLS Certification required before assigned to care for patients independently

Application and Supporting Documents must be submitted by Friday, October 3rd, 2025 in ONE EMAIL - please send documents only, no photos of documents will be accepted. Multiple emails and profiles without uploaded resume will be considered incomplete.

Interviews will be scheduled for October 22nd, 2025

Offers will be made by November 6th, 2025

Program will begin December 8th 2025 and end on January 10th, 2026 (with opportunity to stay in a Nurse Tech role after the completion of the extern program)
