Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Weld Engineer to develop, implement, and improve welding processes in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding engineering, materials science, and quality assurance to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality welds in accordance with industry standards and project requirements.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and optimize welding procedures, techniques, and equipment to support production and ensure compliance with specifications and codes (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO).
  • Perform weld testing and inspections using non-destructive and destructive testing methods.
  • Prepare and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Qualification Tests (WQT).
  • Provide technical guidance and training to welders and production staff.
  • Troubleshoot welding-related issues in production and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure weld integrity and performance.
  • Ensure all welding activities meet safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate new welding technologies, equipment, and automation for potential implementation.
  • Maintain documentation for traceability and compliance audits.
  • Assist in onsite weld training programs

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or similar credentials CWI (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in welding engineering or a related manufacturing / engineering field.
  • Knowledge of welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX).
  • Proficient in CAD software and welding simulation tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.
  • Work Environment :
  • Combination of office and manufacturing floor or fieldwork.
  • May require the use of PPE and occasional travel to job sites or vendor locations.
