Job Summary :

Move and relocate trailers within the facility / premises and communicate such movement with management. Inspect, monitor & adjust trailers, temperature and security requirements; perform daily yard inspections of all trailers on premises & document findings and refuel refrigeration units on trailers.

Will also work in Distribution area to retrieve product from storage area based on customer order picking ticket using a reach lift and scanner. Create master pallet labels using the scanner. Transport product to shipping using the reach lift. Account for all product on order, load the product on the correct trailer using a forklift and scanner. Ensure all product is properly graded and loaded according to load specifications.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities :

• Transporting trailers at predetermined docks / yards
• Fueling tractor and trailer(s) upon return to base and unhooking trailer(s) at specified location
• Inspecting Yard Dog and Trailer for defects before and after shift and submit report indicating their condition
• Ensuring processes have been followed and verify adequate use of load locks, straps, and bulkheads
• Monitoring fuel use and adjust reefer unit's fuel level and temperature, as needed
• Communicating with management on potential issues that arise
• Ensuring all functions are completed in accordance with company standards and procedures, including quality standards and safety regulations
• Have knowledge of workplace safety rules
• Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds
• Able to work in a cold environment
• Able to interact with all levels of management
• Able to work with limited supervision
• Must cross train in other areas, including warehouse
• Ability to obtain jack license
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
