Description : Purpose
To provide quality care to variety of patients within Jackson County Regional Health Center in a caring, professional and efficient manner. This setting may include inpatient, outpatient, and / or outreach services. To evaluate the patient's condition and develop, implement and coordinate a customized physical rehabilitation plan to enhance strength, flexibility, range of motion, motor control, skin integrity, balance, activities of daily living, and functional mobility skills, with associated equipment as needed, as well as reduce pain and discomfort and prevent secondary impairments in neonatal, adolescent adult and geriatric populations. To complete necessary documentation in an accurate and timely manner. To supervise clinical interns in and effective and professional manner and to supervise supportive staff effectively as required by Iowa and Iowa professional practice acts.

Supervisory Responsibility
Guidance : The job requires some accountability for scheduling, assigning or coordinating work. Employees check the quality of work and provide guidance, instruction, training and direction to others. Although the job does not require formal or official supervisory responsibility, the therapist serves as group leader, acts in an informal "assistant supervisory" or "lead" role. In addition, the employees may be expected to provide information's or suggestions on human resources matter.
Materials Responsibility
Very Limited : Work requires very limited responsibility for material resources. Examples of resources could include personal work materials, supplies or equipment, or very small amounts of cash. The employee has a very limited or indirect amount of control over these resources. Although human error might require the repair or replacement of materials, usually the cost of correcting these errors is minor. The variety and volume of resources is also very limited. Problems associated with material resources are very uncomplicated.

Bachelor's, Master’s or equivalent
Field of Study
Occupational Therapy
Special Training
Basic Life Support; Dependent Adult / Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training within timelines established in the Licensure, Registration, Certification and Life Saving training policy.
Training Preferred
Licensure / Registration
Iowa state license. If licensed in another state, must obtain licensure within 6 months.
Experience
No experience required.
Interpersonal Skills
Interaction is with a variety of people inside or outside the organization. Communications are often difficult or stressful in nature. Contact with others involves complex, detailed and often sensitive topics. The job requires a high degree of interpersonal skills to deal with a range of complicated problem situations. Interactions involve gaining the agreement of others.
Working Conditions :
There is routine exposure to highly adverse environmental conditions including physical hazards, health and safety risks, and otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment. Personal risks require safety equipment and precautions to be followed closely but the time the employee may be exposed to these conditions is limited to 70% or less of the work day.
