The Payload Launch Sites Support Services (PLSSS) Program provides all launch processing support functions for Office of Space Launch (OSL). The program's two primary operating locations are Vandenberg AFB, CA and Cape Canaveral AFS, FL. Key elements of the PLSSS program scope include satellite launch processing, satellite transport operations, satellite propellant loading operations, and satellite processing facilities O&M, clean room operations, and safety and environmental services.

The candidate selected for this position will provide direct support for assigned systems and projects. Supporting Engineers with planning, designing and overseeing the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility. Coordinates with architecture / engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs. Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules. Learn and exercise aspects of facility and life safety systems including HVAC / Utilities, Plumbing, and Fire Suppression. Support other functions and work on several concurrent projects within the organization.

• Identifies scope of work for mechanical designs (HVAC / Utilities) based on preliminary review of customer requirements.
• Assess and analyze the operation of existing systems.
• Oversees daily preventative maintenance, repairs, and projects within the assigned facilities.
• Completes monthly inspections of facility AEDs, Diesel Generator fuel tanks, and general facility systems.
• Works with ESH to mitigate and resolve any facility safety issues.
• Responds to all facility alarms ensuring all notifications are made.
• Prepares purchase requests and creates work orders in Maximo.
• Acts as primary POC for multiple organizations and the government customer.

TS / SCI clearance

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience / combined education

Experience with Maximo software

Ability to read, interpret and apply mechanical system codes, drawings and specifications

Familiarity with Universal Facility Codes (UFC)

Pay Rate : The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $58,200 - $111,600. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
