Definition
The Resource and Referral Specialist will provide child care referral and consultation services, recruitment and retention of licensed child care providers, and support for family, friend & neighbor (FFN) and Out of School Time (OST) providers. This position requires an understanding of Early Childhood Education, licensing regulations, and work / life issues.

Duties
- Provide child care referrals and / or enhanced referrals using database programs.
- Assist families in selecting child care by providing information on quality options that meet their needs, including daily and respite care.
- Help parents and providers navigate resources and supports.
- Register and support FFN and licensed providers for the child care subsidy program, including recruitment and retention activities.
- Maintain provider files, input data, generate reports, and perform assigned activities.
- Conduct health and safety inspections for licensed exempt providers in homes and out-of-school sites.
- Manage the statewide child care subsidy wait list, prescreen applications, update based on changes, and send reminders.
- Assist in developing and implementing annual plans.
- Use tools and resources to serve parents whose first language is not English.
- Participate in creating consumer education materials such as newsletters, tip sheets, calendars, and brochures.
- Assist with needs assessments and data collection for planning services.
- Understand and contribute to agency mission, strategic focus, and goals.
- Follow all agency policies and procedures.
- May guide interns and volunteers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of :
Early childhood education practices and child care settings.Computer programs including Microsoft Office and database systems.Positive parenting concepts and family supports.Community services for families.Statewide child care licensing requirements.Ability To :
Communicate clearly in writing and verbally.Be organized and manage time effectively.Provide excellent customer service.Facilitate positive communication.Work collaboratively with staff and community agencies.Work with diverse adults and adapt services accordingly.Special Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Early Education and Child Development preferred; equivalent experience may be accepted.Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.Travel to rural communities as needed.Work some weekends and evenings.Must be physically capable of duties, including lifting up to 40 lbs., bending, standing, sitting, walking, and repetitive hand motions.Pass a background check.Reliable vehicle and valid Nevada Driver's License with proof of insurance.Willing to undergo medical screening and immunizations.Benefits
