Description :

This position is for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse.

The nurse will work in a Level I birthing center.

The nurse will be responsible for circulating during C-Sections and will serve as the baby nurse.

The outpatient infusion will not involve labor and delivery patients.

The patient ratio will be 1 : 4.

Nurses will assist with high-risk deliveries and manage antepartum care.

Responsibilities include supporting breastfeeding, conducting discharge teaching for parents, and performing postpartum duties.

Support for lactation and car seat education will be part of the role.

Skills in administering blood products, monitoring fetal heart and neonatal assessments are required.

Knowledge in caring for patients with various conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and pre-eclampsia is essential.

The nurse will utilize telemetry monitoring and respond to fetal heart rate pattern changes.

The role includes educating and assisting parents with circumcision care.

The unit is supported by a range of interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.

Flexibility to float within the facility as needed is expected.

Overall, this position demands strong clinical skills and the ability to provide compassionate care in a busy birthing environment.
