Overview
Residential Adjunct Faculty for Biomedical Sciences - Anatomy. This position is a part-time adjunct role within the Biology and Chemistry Department in the School of Health Sciences at Liberty University. The anticipated start date is January 13, 2025. Relocation not indicated; in-office work is in Lynchburg, VA. Responsibilities
- Teach residential undergraduate courses for the Biology Department within the biomedical sciences curriculum, as assigned.
- Teach material from the approved curriculum in accordance with the assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction.
- Collaborate effectively as a team member and support LU's mission.
- Provide regular and timely feedback to students through assessments, grading, email, and other requested formats.
- Advise students on academics, attendance, and behavior as appropriate.
- Maintain and report student grades and attendance in accordance with university policies.
- Participate in school retention initiatives by maintaining productive contact with students and offering support where appropriate.
- Teach undergraduate-level courses in the biomedical sciences area as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned and follow the guidelines, policies, and procedures outlined in the Faculty Handbook.
Minimum Qualifications
MS in Biomedical Sciences or a related field.Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work collegially.Commitment to the evangelical standards and mission of Liberty University.Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Biomedical Sciences related field with expertise in microbiology or human physiology (MD, DO also acceptable).Advanced training beyond the PhD (e.g., Postdoc, industry).Experience teaching a range of introductory and upper-level biomedical science lectures and labs.Ability to supervise and mentor undergraduate / graduate student research.Additional information
