Maintenance & Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop leadership skills necessary to have technical oversight within a department to create solutions in multiple areas such as design, development, testing, integration, manufacture, sales, service, quality assurance, and related processes essential in the production of Altec products.
• Directs some engineering decisions for the department with guidance from manager and more experienced engineers.
• Operates with some decision-making latitude within the scope of an assignment.
• Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in the engineering field.
• May assign work to others as directed.
• Utilizes Lean principles to improve our products and processes.
• Manages various sizes of Altec projects and / or acts as Team Lead; may have 3 or fewer full-time direct reports.
• Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies to improve equipment performance and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Analyze failure modes, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to eliminate repetitive equipment failures.
• Lead predictive and preventive maintenance programs, including vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication, and oil analysis.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Create and maintain equipment history, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation.
• Support capital projects by providing reliability and maintainability input into equipment design and selection.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment reliability, maintenance costs, and asset utilization.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
