Assistant General Manager
The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of gym operations to ensure an exceptional "Judgement Free" member experience as well as a financially successful club. Essential duties and responsibilities include :
- Assisting in recruiting, hiring, training and developing a high performing staff consisting of Member Service Representatives, Trainers and Custodians.
- Assisting in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests and ensuring staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
- Assisting with staff management and providing backup support to Club Manager as needed.
- Assisting in scheduling and supervising staff.
- Member service oversight - ensuring staff is providing a superior customer experience at all times.
- Assisting in resolving or escalating employee issues or concerns.
- Involved in all front desk related activities.
- Answering phones in a friendly manner and assisting callers with a variety of questions.
- New member sign-up.
- Taking prospective members on tours.
- Facilitating all member requests, issues, and questions.
- Assisting in overseeing cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
- Assisting in ordering of supplies using a specific budget based on club requirements.
- Assisting in tracking statistics and reports (weekly, monthly, and annually).
- Backup support for any employee who is absent.
- Candidate should expect to work five days per week, and approximately a 40-to-45-hour work schedule depending on hourly or salary status.
Qualifications / requirements include :
Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.Experience working as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness is preferred but not required.Solid supervisory, diplomacy, and listening skills.Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite).Hard working, enthusiastic, and energetic!Strong problem resolution skills.Current CPR Certification required. (Can complete upon hire)High school diploma / GED equivalent required.Must be 18 years of age or older.Physical demands include :
Continual standing and walking during shift.Continual talking with clients and other staff members in person or on the phone during shift.Must be able to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals during shift. (training and protective equipment are provided for your safety)Compensation : $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
