POSITION SUMMARY

Position reports directly to the plant's Chief Mechanic. Incumbent performs any "hands-on" mechanical maintenance related duties as directed by the Chief Mechanic. Oversees all mechanical related activities performed by any assigned laborer.

Responsible for the general maintenance of all production equipment including preventive maintenance, diagnostic and repair work, installation of new or replacement equipment and maintaining tool and supply inventories. Should have knowledge of the following process-related equipment :

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as necessary using O&M manuals as reference and document all activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Perform the following "hands-on" related functions or any other related functions but not limited to :

Job requires considerable lifting, bending, climbing ladders, as well as other strenuous physical activity.

Education Required

Knowledge of general machine designs - mechanical discipline and / or industrial trades, welding, plumbing, electrical, etc. Must have equivalent of high school or industrial / technical school education.

Experience Required

One to three years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
