The Radiation Oncology RN provides direct patient care and ongoing assessment throughout the radiation treatment process. This role includes managing symptoms and side effects, patient education, care coordination, and detailed documentation. Key Responsibilities Monitor patients before, during, and after radiation therapy Perform detailed nursing assessments and implement care interventions Provide symptom and side-effect management Deliver patient education regarding diagnosis and radiation treatment Document nursing interventions and patient outcomes Monitor and report abnormal findings to physicians promptly Prepare patient charts and anticipate diagnostic needs prior to visits Facilitate and schedule diagnostic tests, follow results, and communicate findings Support radiation oncologists during new patient consults, on-treatment visits, and follow-ups Qualifications Current RN license (New York State) Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute care experience (within the last 2 years) Experience in Radiation Oncology or Ambulatory Care BLS certification required EPIC experience preferred Prior travel experience preferred but not required Strong communication and patient advocacy skills Certifications (Preferred Where Applicable) ACLS PALS Telemetry experience Ambulatory or Primary Care experience Why Join HumanEdge Travel?
