About the Role :
The Mobile Employment Specialist will deliver employment readiness and job placement services directly in the community to individuals affected by opioid use disorder. This position will follow the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model , an evidence-based approach to supported employment that emphasizes rapid job search, client choice, and integration with treatment services.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, workforce development, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience providing employment support to individuals with barriers to work, particularly those in recovery or with substance use histories.
- Familiarity with the IPS model and / or willingness to complete IPS training and certification.
- Strong understanding of workforce systems, local employers, and community resources.
- Must be fully Bilingual (English / Spanish)
- Excellent communication, culturally sensitive, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexibly in a mobile / community-based setting.
- Be willing to use your own car to conduct outreach, client meetings, employer visits, and travel to program sites with mileage reimbursement.
Responsibilities :
Provide individualized employment counseling, job readiness training, and career planning using the IPS model.Assist clients in creating resumes, completing job applications, and preparing for interviews.Partner with local employers to identify job opportunities and support placements.Deliver mobile services at community sites, treatment centers, and partner agencies.Collaborate with case managers, health providers, and social services to ensure holistic support.Provide services in both English and Spanish, being culturally sensitive to meet the needs of Hispanic participants.Skills :
In this role, you will utilize your strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with job seekers and connect them with suitable employment opportunities. You will also use your organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress. Additionally, your knowledge of job search strategies and local labor market trends will be essential in providing effective job search assistance to clients. Finally, your ability to work independently and provide ongoing support to clients will be critical in ensuring their success in the workplace.
