Patient Ambassador (Part-Time) 20 Hours Per Week

Greets all patients and visitors entering and exiting the facility. Guides patients to the appropriate patient care areas and marks patients as present for their appointment when arriving to the facility for an appointment. Responsible for having knowledge of emergency response system and ability to react instantaneously to all emergencies. Acts as a dispatcher for Safety / Security, Code alerts, and Facilities Services.

Education : High school diploma or its equivalent preferred.

Qualifications : Must have the ability to work efficiently and prioritize tasks in a high-volume practice. Must always be personable and friendly and able to work as a team member and assist other co-workers. Must have the ability to remain calm in difficult and stressful situations. Must have excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work independently and be self-directed as necessary. Must have the ability to effectively use a computer and telephone system. Must have professional and effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience in reception or customer service field is preferred. Must be able to identify and solve problems that arise. Must have knowledge of professional telephone protocol. Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision and respect the need for confidentiality in all duties performed. Must be detail-oriented, have accurate data entry skills, and be able to prioritize duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Greets patients, family members and visitors in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner while stationed at the Greeter station at the main entrance of the facility. Answers incoming calls and accurately provides information and / or transfers calls to the correct area. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft applications, and how to accurately locate people and places through those applications. Initiates all emergency operations i.e. answers priority calls promptly, determining the nature of the emergency and accurately executes procedures contained in facility policies and procedures. Has thorough knowledge of all services provided by OSS Health to ensure that patients and visitors are directed appropriately. Receives patient forms. Scans and processes forms electronically through EMR system and send to the appropriate department. Performs miscellaneous clerical duties. Inform Patient Access Manager of any unusual occurrences. Navigates proficiently in the Electronic Medical Record. Print out Census reports for physician clinic visits and surgery schedules. Participates in staff meetings, attending even when held outside of normal scheduled working hours. Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education : High School Diploma / GED or better.
