Description :

The JLRNA Technical Center delivers a world-class customer experience, and all personnel will be expected to perform their duties in a way that maintains this promise to our clients. The detailer position plays a critical role in ensuring all Jaguar Land Rover vehicles at the Technical Center are presented to the highest standards of cleanliness and appearance. A successful applicant will understand the importance of presentation, and attention to detail.

Duties :

  • Comply with health and safety standards and maintain a safe work environment in the Technical Center.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness and follow published 5S standards.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with JLRNA employees and supplier personnel.
  • Maintain and use equipment in Technical Center to operational standard.
  • Take reasonable precautions to protect company vehicles.
  • Ensure training requirements, as outlined by JLRNA, are completed successfully on time.
  • Maintain JLRNA’s Key Track System.
  • Coordinate the collection of disposable items (e.g., tires, oil, and scrap metal).

Responsibilities :

  • Perform meticulous cleaning, reconditioning, and presentation of all assigned vehicles to meet Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) standards, including exterior washing, interior detailing, and care of windows and glass.
  • Work closely with the shop supervisor and vehicle porter to follow the daily workflow and schedule.
  • Notify the team promptly when vehicles are completed and ready for the next stage; communicate any delays, quality issues, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Maintain all detailing tools, chemicals, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Ensure each vehicle leaving the service department meets a professional, showroom-quality appearance.
  • Conduct final inspections on required vehicles to verify cleanliness, quality, and readiness for delivery or service.

    • Requirements :

  • Previous detailing or automotive cleaning experience preferred, especially in a premium or dealership environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work efficiently and follow established procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

    • Physical Requirements :

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to :

  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Bend, kneel, and crouch as needed to thoroughly complete duties.
  • Lift equipment or supplies weighing up to 25–50 lbs.
  • Complete repetitive motions such as waxing, buffing, and vacuuming.
  • Utilize manual dexterity for handling small tools and cleaning intricate vehicle parts.

    • Work Environment :

  • Must be comfortable working with various cleaning agents and protective products.
  • Equipment like buffers and vacuums can be loud and cause vibration.
  • May be required to drive or reposition vehicles, so a valid driver’s license is often necessary.
