An international banking organization seeks an Analyst or Associate level Credit Risk Model Owner to serve as the local model owner responsible for monitoring and managing credit risk related models for the bank.
Responsibilities : Delivery
- Conduct model performance monitoring based on the monitoring plan and revisions, communicating with team leads, model validation team, model users, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain the bank's risk-related model inventories, collaborate with model validators to prepare documentation, model attestation, etc.
- Address model risk findings issued by the model validation group and internal audit.
- Develop internal credit risk models in collaboration with the Tokyo Head Office, Model Validation team, and external vendors.
- Periodically monitor the use of credit models to identify and recommend enhancements and improvements in user guidance and training.
- Enhance model management, governance processes, and documentation standards to improve validation efficiency and accuracy.
Interpersonal Objectives :
Communicate effectively with various stakeholders including model users, validators, and internal auditors across the bank and Tokyo Head Office.Report to team leads and senior management; lead and train junior members.Recommend improvements to data management processes for better monitoring efficiency and accuracy.Address issues and feedback from model users appropriately.Present to senior management and regulators on credit risk models and conduct training sessions for model users.Requirements
Strong knowledge of Model Risk Management frameworks, regulations, and industry practices, especially related to Credit Risk Rating Models.Experience and knowledge as a Credit Risk Model Owner, including developing and documenting credit rating models.Strong presentation skills with the ability to create visual materials for diverse audiences including regulators and senior management.Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and coordinate with stakeholders under pressure.Effective communication skills at various organizational levels to foster collaboration.Skills
At least two years of experience in model risk management roles such as model developer or validator, preferably in credit risk rating models.Educational background in Probability, Statistics, Financial Mathematics, or Computer Science preferred.Master's Degree, CFA, or FRM certification preferred.Technical skills including Excel (VBA), MS Access, SQL, SAS, Python, and quantitative analysis.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Japanese language skills are a plus.Benefits : Good benefits.
