Overview
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented UXO Technician III for employment in Kuwait City, Kuwait. Qualified candidates must be available to start onboarding on November 3, 2025. Deployment to Kuwait will follow, with pre-hire activities (drug screen, background check, etc.) required by mid-October 2025.
Responsibilities
- Performs reconnaissance and classification of UXO, identifying U.S. and foreign-guided missiles, bombs and bomb fuzes, projectiles and projectile fuzes, grenades and grenade fuzes, rockets and rocket fuzes, land mines and associated components, pyrotechnics, military explosives, and demolition materials.
- Supervises the location of subsurface UXO using military and / or civilian magnetometers, and supervises the following : excavation and recovery of subsurface UXO; construction of engineering controls; location of surface UXO by visual means; transportation and storage of UXO ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws; disposal of UXO by burning or detonation; and UXO-related storage compatibility.
- Supervises the donning and doffing of PPE and maintenance and operator checks on all team equipment.
- Prepares UXO-related administrative reports and maintains a daily logbook.
- Conducts daily team safety and task hazard analysis briefings.
Qualifications
High school diploma + 4 years of experience and / or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.Current driver's license; will use an AECOM provided vehicle and / or personal vehicle for company business.Pass pre-employment drug screen.Valid US Passport through 11 / 2026.Participate in and successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment fitness-for-duty exam in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120; medically qualified to conduct work activities at the jobsite.40-hour HAZWOPER; 8-hour OSHA Supervisor (initial); current 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher.US citizenship required.Meet minimum qualifications per DDESB TP-18 : graduate of military EOD assistant course or accredited UXO technician training; on-the-job MEC-related experience; and related OSHA / management training.Preferred Qualifications
Explosive Ordnance Disposal certificate.Additional Information
