American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Telemetry position on a night shift, requiring an active AZ or compact RN license and strong telemetry skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 48-bed acute care Med / Surg Telemetry unitPatient population includes COVID, respiratory, GI, diabetic, telemetry, TIA, CVA, and general, orthopedic and spinal surgical casesNurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 512-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirementUnit uses Cerner EMRRN is first to float and may float to East Campus or PCU if qualifiedUnit uses remote telemetry monitoring; RNs must interpret and sign strips once per shiftUses equipment such as BiPAP, CPAP, high flow oxygen, and provides some breathing treatmentsRNs are responsible for interpreting rhythm strips and ensuring documentation every shiftTesting requirements include passing the Relias Dysrhythmia exam and a sterile technique skills assessmentOne day of unit-specific orientation is providedHoliday coverage required for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's (combination of days and evenings as assigned)RN is required to wear navy blue scrubsNo call or standby requiredCandidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility in the past yearMust be able to float to other units or campuses as needed\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Telemetry RN experienceCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications required; pending certifications not acceptedAbility to read and interpret basic telemetry strips requiredExperience caring for general and orthopedic surgical patients, CVA, and TIA preferredCerner EMR experience strongly recommended due to limited orientationMust provide a copy of driver's license for considerationMust submit two professional references : one recent supervisor (last 12 months), one supervisor or peer (last 3 years), including dates and rehire eligibility\n Benefits\n
