Job Summary : Supports operators through the efficient, on-time movement of in-process materials, finished goods, components, containers, and other items to and from work cells.
Required Education and Experience :
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to two years of related experience / training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Forklift Operator License
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Technical ability to operate scan guns
- Must have a good knowledge of the English language
- Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949
Essential Functions :
Provides support to operators through efficient, on-time delivery of WIP, containers, and other materials to the work cellsMonitor scrap dumpsters and dump scrap in designated hoppersRemove finished goods containers and transport to correct storage area, and scan accordinglyPerform maintenance and safety checks on forklifts and other material handling equipment for which the associate is responsibleRemove WIP containers and move to correct designated location and scan accordinglyFollow all plant requirements for transport and stacking of containersMonitor condition of containers and move damaged containers to container repair areaMaintain storage container organization in accordance with the plant layoutAny other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Weld Assembly SupervisorAbide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following : Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee HandbookLanguage Skills : Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
