Roofing Project Assistant
This position is primarily responsible for ensuring commercial and residential roofing projects are properly assessed, scoped, ordered, and built to local codes and warranty standards.
The roofing project assistant will work under the roofing project manager ensuring that jobs run efficiently and smoothly monitoring the installation, and dealing with the crews as well as homeowners.
Essential duties, functions, and core accountabilities :
- Assist with site survey and take off on roofing projects
- Assist in coordinating with permit package preparer
- Provide support to sales manager (Jorge Ramos) as required for materials, schedule, and cost information
- Request material bids and prepare purchase orders P.O.s
- Monitor job progress and record all events and communications in ZOHO
- Maintain a change order status log
- Keep accounts receivables informed of all pending and approved change orders
- Provide support to Jorge Ramos as required for materials, schedule, and cost information
- Maintain communication with the client to keep them informed and engaged
- Maintain communication with solar operations to keep them informed
- Attend daily department team meetings and weekly scheduling meetings
- Schedule reroofs once the permit is issued
- Schedule and attend final inspections
- Notify solar operations of completion in order to schedule solar installation

Essential physical requirements, including climbing, standing, stooping, bend, squat, stretch.Physical effort / lifting up to 10 pounds; light - up to 20 pounds; medium - up to 50 pounds; heavy - over 50 pounds.Ability to work in all weather and climatesAbility to work in confined spaces, such as atticsMust be able to work with heights; ascends / descends a ladder to rooftops.While working conditions can vary depending on the specific position, this job will require you to be outdoors for extended periods of time.Keep in mind that you may be required to work at heights necessary to get the work done, and that you can meet the physical demand of working on a rooftop. Additionally, will sometimes need to work in attics or crawl into tight spaces as they will need to hook up the solar panels to the electric grid.Weekends and OT may be requiredWorkdays and start times are subject to change dependent on weather & additional requirementsCompensation may vary based on role, level, experience, length of time in a position, and location.
