  • Edit websites in WordPress. Assist website customers with change requests.
  • Assist with content migration on websites in development.
  • Work with web team to establish priorities and deadlines for website projects.
  • Implement basic SEO.

  • Position Summary :

    The UGA Office of Research invites applications for one student position with the Office of Research Communications. The student will play a vital role in marketing communications supporting the University’s research enterprise and the thousands of individual faculty and researchers across UGA’s campuses. This position’s primary focus will be on assisting the Office of Research Communications web team with edits to 100+ websites for units and projects within the Office of Research.

    The Office of Research encourages and supports innovative interdisciplinary research, scholarship and creative activities that contribute to the physical, emotional and economic well-being of the people of Georgia, the nation and the world. Through partnerships and collaborations, we seek to share knowledge, increase innovation, and deliver the products of UGA research to the marketplace. The Office of Research Communications serves to facilitate this mission and promote the benefits, leadership and structures of UGA research to audiences both inside and outside the University through a wide range of communications channels.

    Relevant / Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position :

    This is a part-time position (6-10 hours / week) responsible for assisting the Office of Research Communications web team with edits to 100+ websites for units and projects within the Office of Research. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in WordPress; possess critical thinking skills; communicate effectively; and exhibit the capacity to implement website changes accurately and in a timely manner.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and / or Competencies :

  • Experience in WordPress content management system.
  • Ability to listen and effectively communicate verbally and in writing with clients and the web team about design, technical issues and solutions.
  • Basic customer service skills along with the ability to work with site editors of all skill levels.
  • Knowledge of web accessibility and SEO preferred.
