Wound Nurse-RN / LPN

Qualifications & Responsibilities :

Qualifications :

Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Current, Unencumbered Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License

A minimum of one (1) year of experience in wound care and treatments

Prior experience / certification in Wound Care is preferred

Previous long-term care experience is preferred but not required

Computer Knowledge

Clear written and verbal communication skills (Essential for documentation and patient / family education)

Familiarity with completing the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessment tool.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) may be considered

Responsibilities :

Assess the unique needs of each patient to determine appropriate treatment plans.

Provide direct nursing care to residents under the medical direction and supervision of the residents' attending physicians, the Director of Nursing Services, and the Medical Director of the facility.

Ability to prioritize daily tasks to ensure timely and effective resident care.

Assist in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the physical and psychological needs of the resident, in accordance with established medical practices and the requirements of the policies and procedures of this facility, and in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards governing the facility.

Educate patients and families on best practices to promote healing and wellness.

Track treatments and patient progress according to HIPAA guidelines.

Monitor the performance of non-licensed personnel.

Any other duties assigned by the Director of Nursing.

Wound Nurse-RN Schedules & Benefits :

Schedule : Full Time Days - one weekend per month

Ability to get paid daily (through a third-party service)
