A company is looking for a Coding Specialist I - Inpatient Acute Care Coding.
Key Responsibilities
Codes and abstracts inpatient records using ICD-10-CM and other classification schemes
Ensures accuracy of diagnoses, procedures, and patient demographics while adhering to compliance regulations
Participates in quality improvement teams and resolves quality reviews in a timely manner
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a coding-related field preferred
Courses in Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, ICD-CM, and ICD-PCS required
At least 6 months to 1 year of inpatient acute care coding experience preferred
CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) required within 1 year of hire
Experience with clinical information systems preferred
