Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile / field environment.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various truck equipment including electrical, braking, cooling systems, starters / alternators, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, and more.
- Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.
- Maintain and operate the company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre- / post-trip inspections.
- Communicate with clients to assess needs, provide information or assistance, resolve issues, and meet expectations.
- Manage concurrent tasks, prioritize work activities and time allocations effectively.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks.
- Document work according to company standards and upload photos of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders using a company-issued iOS device and TRAIT application.
- Accurately complete DOT forms and other required documentation in a timely fashion.
- Work independently and manage daily schedule with high productivity, aiming to meet standard repair times.
- Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for repairs.
- Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers, and discuss RO findings.
- Perform all work in compliance with safety, health and environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
Requirements
High School Diploma / GED and up to 2 years' related experience.Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.OEM training and certifications are preferred.Participate in and complete all required company training.This position follows DOT FMCSA regulations; candidate must complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.A current and valid DOT medical card may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical; if four months or less remain, a DOT physical is required.Interstate operating authority requires candidates be at least 21 years old.Valid driver's license required and candidate must maintain a Driver Qualification File.Required Certifications (within 18 months)
