Veterinary Assistant Position

Clairmont Animal Hospital is an AAHA-accredited, full-service veterinary clinic dedicated to the treatment of cats and dogs. We are open seven days a week for general, advanced, and emergency veterinary treatment, and we also offer pet boarding. Since 1990, our veterinarians and staff have been serving the pets of Decatur, Atlanta, and the surrounding area from our same location, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to provide the best in veterinary care and the latest in medical technology for dogs and cats. We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing hospital to provide exceptional care to our patients! You will work alongside other skilled Vet Assistants, support our Credentialed Veterinary Technicians and DVMs in the daily flow of the hospital.

Position Skills :

• Assist DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery and minor procedures, surgical assisting, and pro-actively set up for any procedures or diagnostic tests
• Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner
• Obtain accurate vitals, obtain medical histories, and / or note any changes of patient's condition to DVM
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologies
• Care and maintenance of all medical equipment including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and any other tools that are essential to daily operations
• High quality client communication on patient updates and questions

Position Requirements :

Pay Range - $14.00 - $25.00 based on experience
