Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and ambitious Pharmacist I to join our team. The ideal candidate will be licensed, with a preference for experience in retail, mail order, or specialty pharmacy settings. This position offers opportunities for growth and learning, and requires comfort with a contractor pay structure. The role involves working any 8-hour shift between 7 am and 7 : 30 pm, rotating every two weeks. A minimum of one year of experience, preferably with a retail organization, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and determine necessary formulas and ingredients.
• Direct pharmacy workers engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
• Provide information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
• Enter data such as patient name, prescribed medication, and cost to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory.
• Assay medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.
• Instruct interns and other medical personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacy.
• Be comfortable being on feet all day and occasionally push carts weighing up to 30 lbs.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00 / hr.
