ACTIVITIES ASSISTANT - PART-TIME SKILLED NURSING
For over 40 years, North Hill, a not-for-profit senior living community located in Needham, Massachusetts, has provided vibrant living opportunities to people 65+ by offering a host of hospitality, wellness and health care services. The Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating programs for residents with the guidance of the Director.
Responsibilities
- Plans, designs, implements and evaluates programs to enhance the Resident experience
- Provides meaningful individual and group engagements within the small house model
- Creates weekly Residents notes regarding participation, behavior, programming recommendations and highlights per household
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team daily to ensure Residents needs are met
- Completes written or electronic documentation in a timely manner
- Participates in household meal services, including preparation, cooking and serving meals
- Monitors changes in the Resident's needs, abilities, and preferences to provide programs and activities appropriate for individual and group audiences
- Assists with facilitating volunteer opportunities for Team Members and Residents
- Works closely with family members and outside organizations or individuals to provide care to Residents (i.e., private companion, hospice team, etc.)
- Coordinates supplies and space as needed for planned events
- Assists in developing, producing, and distributing the weekly and daily program calendar
- Performs administrative requirements, such as ordering supplies, proofing publications, and completing necessary forms as needed
- Supports, encourages and directs independent activity pursuits, both individually and in small groups
- Engages Residents in one-on-one interactions
- Facilitates group activities according to the programming schedule
- Facilitates virtual visits for Residents
- Provides caring, thoughtful and engaging service at all times
- Communicates any challenges, complaints or service difficulties to immediate supervisor
- Meets department uniform, appearance, and grooming requirements
- Complies with all OSHA safety regulations, applicable local laws regarding health, safety, or environment
Required Education And Experience
A High School Diploma or equivalentProficient with computer software programsMaintains First Aid, CPR, and other certifications and trainingsExperience with creating activities for the senior population is preferredTraining and knowledge in recreational activities for a senior population is preferredPreferred Education And Experience
