Responsibilities Work in a Med / Surg hospital unit caring for complex surgical populations Day shifts from 7 : 00AM to 7 : 30PM, three 12-hour shifts per week Provides post-operative care, including management of tracheostomies, wound vacs, and complex wound care Care and education for patients with new ostomies Collaborates with general surgical and OMFS residency services Uses EPIC for electronic charting; prior experience required Role involves maintaining accurate and timely documentation and assessment, and implementing and evaluating care plans Care for post-operative and surgical patients, including wound management and new tracheostomy care Expected to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and provide education to patients and families Maximum of seven days of requested time off permitted per 13-week contract Contingent workers cannot be on assignment for more than one year without a six-month break before returning Standard hospital scrub attire required Travel partners are not accepted for this assignment Requirements Active Illinois RN license, temporary license accepted BLS certification (AHA) required Minimum one year of recent relevant Med / Surg nursing experience Demonstrated Level 1 trauma experience required Experience with EPIC EMR required Associate degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred Must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-618757.
