Job Summary :

Under the direction of the Director Financial Administration, this position is responsible for creating, executing, and auditing transactional processes for the Kellogg School of Management with a focus on student club activity. This includes the oversight of Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Accounts Receivable. The position supports key yearly processes such as year-end close, and is the key financial contact for student clubs on expected processes, policies, and club financial health.

Specific Responsibilities :

  • Support the Director Financial Administration in the successful and accurate execution, and routine auditing of all Kellogg School of Management transactions including payables, receivables, and payroll relating to faculty, staff, and student clubs.
  • Responsible for training student club officers involved in transactional processes with regards to proper process and related policies.
  • Provide reports and ad hoc analysis as needed to the Director Financial Administration and student club officers to ensure accuracy of accounts, adequate controls, and support decision-making.
  • Act as the key liaison with NU relating to Kellogg School of Management student club payables, receivables, payroll, and related policies, procedures, and financial systems.
  • Act as the key liaison with central units relating to student club activity, student reimbursement and related policies, procedures, and financial systems.
  • Provides guidance on contract review and process for student club activities.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting and / or economics, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of work experience in business, accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum Competencies : (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)

  • Ability to evaluate moderately difficult budget scenarios and to analyze and interpret complex budget and accounting reports.
  • Ability to complete accurate budget plans and reports and to analyze those prepared by others.
  • Proven ability to build queries and consolidate data in Excel.
  • Working knowledge of accounting theory, methods and procedures.
  • Proven oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven customer service skills.
  • Proven decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently yet be an accomplished team player.
  • Fluent in Word and Power Point.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in institutions such as higher education, hospital administration, government agencies, or other non-profit groups.
  • Preferred Competencies : (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)

  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft products, including HRIS and Cognos.
  • Target hiring range for this position will be $60,000 $67,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
