Deputy Sheriff positions involve crime prevention and investigation activities. Applicants must complete a Florida basic training program and pass the Physical Agility Test. Additional requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and passing a polygraph, background investigation, drug screen, medical evaluation, and psychological examination.
Physical requirements include climbing, balancing, stooping, and exerting significant force occasionally or frequently. The position may expose individuals to various hazards including moving mechanical parts, extreme temperatures, and inadequate lighting.
