Overview
Congressional School is seeking part-time After School Teachers to join our Extended Hours Program (EHP) for the 2025-2026 school year. The EHP program providex a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for students in Preschool through 8th Grade during after-school hours. Our staff play a key role in creating a warm, inclusive community where each child is known, supported, and celebrated.
This is a part-time position, working Monday-Friday from 3 : 15 p.m. to 6 : 15 p.m., and reports to the Auxiliary Programs Manager.
Responsibilities
- Provide a fun, nurturing, and safe aftercare experience for all students
- Plan and lead age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities
- Actively supervise and engage with students during play and structured activities
- Prepare and serve snacks, assist children as needed during snack time
- Fulfill assigned duties such as supervising study hall, playground, or crosswalk
- Communicate promptly about any hazards, maintenance needs, or concerns
- Adhere to all state and school licensing requirements and safety regulations
- Address and support individual student needs, including medical or behavioral concerns
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to children and families
- Support the School's mission, vision, and core values through daily interactions and responsibilities
- Complete a minimum of 16 hours of Early Childhood Education training annually
- Perform other duties as assigned
