Electrical Controls Engineering Technician (Integration Solutions)
Summary
Assist in the testing, evaluation, and specification of new or existing company products. Individuals in this position are comfortable working virtually in a CAD, Drawing, or ERP environment as well as with their hands in a testing or production environment. Controls Engineering Technicians are capable of working independently to accomplish many tasks and often take technical direction from Controls Engineers and managers alike. This role often serves as a link between the Product Engineering and the shop floor technical activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no direct supervisory responsibility although individuals in this position may be required to provide technical guidance to peers or manufacturing shop staff from time to time.
Qualifications
Education And / or Experience
Associate's Degree in electrical engineering field is required and an additional (1-2) years or relative experience is preferred
Language Skills
English as first language. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings / electrical schematics.
Mathematical Skills
Proficient in algebra and geometry as is required to solve engineering problems.
Computer Skills
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. Employee spends some time on shop floor. The majority of the time will be spent sitting in front of a computer and use of the phone.
Work Environment
Work environment is a pleasant, temperature controlled, professional office environment in a manufacturing setting. Personal workstation may be located on 2nd floor. The employee works in the office but does have frequent interaction with personnel on the shop floor. The employee may also be required to travel occasionally to work in customers' plants reviewing new applications or on the installation, start-up and commissioning of company products. In plants, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is mixed but does not require hearing protection in most areas.
