We are looking to recruit a Regional Director of Operations and Supply Chain, North America on a permanent basis to join our team based at our Houston, TX location.
The Role
The Regional Operations & Supply Chain Director will be responsible for deploying procedures and tools that drive efficiencies through an “End-to-End Supply Chain”; this includes but is not limited to supplier engagement, freight movement, operational best practise into and out of Trifast facilities through to the appropriate interface with customers. These best practices, combined with an ownership of Business Intelligence, lead to a profitable growth path in line with Group Strategy while supporting the company's overall growth and objectives.
The scope includes both factory, production and warehousing where applicable in each Region.
This role will require a strong background in data analytics, D365, or other ERP systems, customer engagement, team leadership, warehouse operations, supply chain logistics, commercial negotiations, and a proven track record of successful project management. This role will have a dotted line to the Global Operations & Supply Chain Director
Working with the Regional teams and Central Functions to support the delivery the strategic imperatives to deliver the One TR Strategy
Responsibilities
- Health & Safety : Ensure ownership for your team’s health and safety, taking steps to ensure working practices are free from harm, reporting any issues or concerns to the Global Health & Safety Director.
- Performance Management & Engagement : As a member of the Group Leadership Team, ensure the performance and accountability for delivery of objectives is managed to a high standard. Engaging teams to ensure the right fundamentals are in place for a solid and professional approach to our people, working with your peer group to foster collaboration and delivery of the One TR strategy.
- Talent Assessment, Acquisition and Development : Through regular reviews assess ongoing performance of your team. Where necessary recruit, hire, and retain talent to build and maintain a high-performing commercial team. Provide opportunities for professional growth and development, mentorship, and training to ensure that team members have the skills and capabilities needed to succeed in their roles and contribute to the company's success.
- Team Leadership and Management : Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure alignment with the company's vision and objectives. This involves joining team members in customer, supplier and Trifast site visits, setting clear goals and expectations, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the wider Operations and Supply Chain team.
- Operational Efficiencies : Bridge systems and technology optimisation opportunities with on the ground delivery, through tight collaboration with Regional MD, Environmental, Health & Safety Director & Global Operations & Supply Chain Director, to identify and deploy best practise learning across all regional locations.
- KPI Management : Establish, manage, and develop appropriate operational KPI’s in conjunction with the Global operation Lead.This includes, but is not limited to, g ross profit margin, Cost of goods sold, On time and in full and Quality of supplied products, Overall equipment efficiency, Picks per working Hour, or other relevant metrics that define efficiency of operations and supply chain, Inventory weeks and Aged and obsolete stock.
- Supply Chain Optimisation : In conjunction with the Global Sourcing team, drive efficiencies through data interrogation and supplier scorecards & scoping, whereby all areas of optimisation are considered (consolidating like parts, freight routes, packaging, consignment stock profiling, Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ) / Economical Reorder Quantities (EOQ), lead time alignment etc) and the operational environment generates less waste, inventory is leaner, and speed to market is developed.
- Supply Chain management : manage the local supply chain and pricing in line with process and global guidance. Only using the suppliers agreed and the pricing structure that drives the margin expectations
- Customer Engagement : Assist in the development of customer supply solutions, together with Global Account Directors / SAMs / Local BDMs, whereby the deployment of technology-based offerings (including but not limited to digital weigh scale bins, RFID technology, 3PL drop offs) is proven to drive profitable growth and reduce current costs to serve, linked to customer facing efficiency dashboards underpinning our value creation criterion and delivering pricing power and “stickiness”. Support or project manage the potential movement of customers from one region to another (either Trifast transfer or customer migration)
- Freight Optimisation : In collaboration with the Global Operations & Supply Chain Director and Global Sourcing team support and implement strategy.
- Forecasting / Planning / Excess & Obsolete Inventory : Utilising customer forecasts, MOQ (EOQ), proactive recognition and root cause of obsolescence or service deficiency to create a more aligned / shared approach on obsolescence or service issues establishing acceptable stock turns by shortening lead time and supplier MOQ by a more transparent and less granular approach to supplier commitments. Using historic usage data, common customer part details, and other group information, dispose of and limit E&O provisioned inventory in order to regain profit from prior periods or improve budgeted costs in current trading years.
- Compliance and Standards : work within the company policies and process, compliance standards and Regional obligations. Supporting and utilising all internal systems for recording and managing the business as required by the role.
- Supporting the wider One TR strategy : Any other reasonable duties to support the delivery of the strategy, operational KPI’s and objectives.
