Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based, hands-on occupational therapy to medically complex patients recovering from serious illness, injury, or surgery, focusing on restoring function and promoting independence in daily living activities
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team to implement and adjust individualized rehabilitation plans
  • Evaluate patients' ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), and develop targeted interventions to improve functional outcomes and quality of life
  • Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques, assistive devices, energy conservation, and home safety modifications to support safe and successful discharge
  • Accurately document patient assessments, goals, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with facility policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Active Occupational Therapist license in Louisiana
  • 1+ year of acute care, ICU, or LTAC experience strongly preferred
  • BLS required
  • Strong clinical judgment and a commitment to excellence in patient care
