Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift role requiring a WA or compact RN license and ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and pediatric certs.
Responsibilities Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital
Typical patient population includes standard ER cases, psych patients, and occasional OB deliveries with transfers
Unit includes 2 trauma rooms and 11 exam rooms, 4 of which are fast track
Patient ratios are typically 1 : 4
Uses Cerner Millennium EMR system
Nights, 12-hour shifts, with every other weekend required
Floating across ED and inpatient units as needed
Ventilator management before ICU transport may be required
ER physician on site 24 / 7, PA support in the afternoon, hospitalist until 5pm
Typical duties include patient triage, management of trauma and psychiatric patients, and participation in emergency deliveries and transfers
Nurse aides available 24 / 7, with additional support during peak hours
Scrubs are provided
Holiday shifts worked into staff rotation
Training and orientation includes 2-3 shifts specific to the unit
Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required
Minimum 2 years of recent ER nursing experience required
Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and either ENPC or PALS required
Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
Experience with Cerner Millennium preferred
Charge nurse experience preferred
