Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Pediatric Neurosurgery)

University of Minnesota Physicians seeks a Certified Physician Assistant or Certified Nurse Practitioner to join the University of Minnesota Neurosurgery team. In this role, you will provide neurosurgery care for pediatric inpatients and outpatients, and adult outpatients at the University of Minnesota Medical Center-West Bank location. You will be working closely with academic neurosurgeons and experienced Advanced Practice Providers, caring for pediatric and adult patients with a diverse range of neurosurgical disorders.

The PA or NP is an experienced member of the health care team who uses advanced practice skill with the supervision / collaborationof licensed physicians to provide comprehensive health care services to patients. The Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner engages in independent decision making about health care needs and provides health care services to pediatric and adult individuals throughout their life span. Provides physical and psychological health assessments, patient education and counseling, orders and interprets diagnostic procedures, and manages acute and chronic disease conditions ensuring continuity of care for individuals in the communities served.

We're Looking for an NP or PA Who Is :

• A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program.
• Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP.
• Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP's).
• Able to meet threshold criteria / qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
• DEA, BLS, ACLS
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional collaboration abilities.
