Overview
Job title : Management and Budget Consultant. The consultant works with clients of FirstService Development Advisors (FSDA) who contract for Forward Planning and Department of Real Estate (DRE) Budget preparation services. The role focuses on building and maintaining professional client relationships to contribute to FSDA and FirstService Residential growth. Compensation : $70-80k. The salary is commensurate with experience, education, and responsibilities, and for positions at a client's property may be subject to client directives.
Responsibilities
- Proficient in the preparation of budgets for submittal to the DRE.
- Understand various budgeting methods and when to use each; comprehensive training on the DRE budget process will be provided during onboarding.
- Ability to determine analyses beneficial to a builder / developer and prepare accurate, comprehensive analyses with reasonable conclusions.
- Ensure product presentation, quality, and accuracy meet FSDA standards.
- Attend and participate in forward planning and budget meetings with builders and consultants; follow up with correspondence, contracts, punch lists, meeting notes, etc.
- Lead consulting files and coordinate meetings, agendas, punch lists, materials, budgets, and analyses with FSDA staff as appropriate.
- Act as a resource person for FirstService Residential (FSR).
- Assist with updates to the FSDA reference library.
- Participate in marketing by attending industry events and building client relationships.
- Maintain client satisfaction and relationships; keep in touch during projects and initiate follow-up after completion.
- Attend forward planning meetings as requested throughout California.
- Advise clients and FSR Community Managers on revisions to Rules & Regulations / Architectural Guidelines.
- Stay current with issues affecting HOA management to address during forward planning.
- Work with FSDA administrative staff to prepare contracts and proposals.
- Maintain invoicing timesheets and ensure accurate information for invoicing.
- Keep thorough notes on each file.
- Research and implement consulting materials to continuously improve FSDA guidelines, procedures, and forms.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).Strong written and verbal communication skills.Team player with ability to collaborate with clients, vendors, and associates; client service mindset.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.Detail oriented with high accuracy; follows quality system procedures.Budget management of travel and marketing expenses.Education & Experience
Finance background required.Prior experience in community management or building industry is ideal.Physical Requirements and Working Environment
Must be able to hear to receive calls and communicate with clients.Must be mobile in the office to perform tasks such as copying and mailing.Must be able to handle multiple tasks and sit for long periods at a computer.Must be able to lift 25 lbs and have finger dexterity for typing.Regular attendance required; longer hours may be needed based on business needs.Tools & Equipment Used
