Job Description

The  Director of Engineering  is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight, development, and management of the organization’s infrastructure, and engineering operations. This position leads a multidisciplinary team to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all physical assets, while supporting organizational growth and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • \tDevelop and execute the strategic vision for engineering operations in alignment with organizational goals.
  • \tLead and mentor a team of managers, engineers, and technical staff, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • \tManage departmental budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • \tCollaborate with senior leadership to align engineering strategies with business needs and growth initiatives.
  • \tImplement preventive maintenance programs and ensure optimal performance of equipment, systems, and infrastructure.
  • \tPromote energy efficiency and sustainability practices across all .
  • \tManage vendor relationships and service contracts, ensuring performance standards and cost controls are met.
  • \tDevelop and maintain emergency response plans, safety protocols, and business continuity strategies.
  • \tStay current on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes affecting engineering.
  • \tLead capital projects from planning through execution, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
  • \tEnsure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • \tRepresent the organization in interactions with regulatory agencies and industry associations.
  • \tProvide leadership during crisis situations to ensure the safety of personnel and protection of assets.
  • \tEncourage continuous learning and professional development within the and engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in engineering, preferably in a regulated industry
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex projects
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
