The Banquet Manager at the Whitewater Center (Whitewater) oversees the planning, preparation, execution, and breakdown associated with all programming and events that require space and / or catering. The banquet team provides service for a diverse range of clientele – including, but not limited to, corporate groups, community-based organizations, students, military, weddings, and consumers of public Whitewater events. Successful execution of each event will require effective communication and collaboration with Food & Beverage, Events, and other operational departments onsite. The Banquet Manager is supported by a team of Event Staff. This is a full-time, on-site, benefits eligible position that reports to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the kitchen to create precise orders for food and supplies.
• Forecast staffing needs and set staffing plans leaving room for adjustment as necessary.
• Manage P&L of business unit
• Manage all ordering and inventory of banquet supplies (linens, plateware, silverware, etc)
• Achieve quality and operational goals
• Maintain a strong presence onsite during key festivals and large group events.
• Ensure standards for food quality, food presentation, and venue appearance are met.
• Anticipate guest needs and provide each customer with a positive, engaging experience.
• Develop a thorough understanding of all requirements and expectations for upcoming events.
• Ensure constant and effective interdepartmental communication.
• Maintain and develop vendor relationships
• Foster and develop a high-functioning team of hospitality professionals.
• Establish and implement performance expectations and evaluation techniques.
• Other duties as assigned.

Whitewater is home to diverse and ever-evolving food and beverage outlets, including full-service and fast casual dining options. In addition, the Food and Beverage Department oversees catering for private events and Adventure Dining.
