American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring at least two years of critical care experience and a NC or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 14-bed CVICU within a hospital setting that is a Level III Trauma, Teaching Hospital, Chest Pain and Stroke Center of ExcellencePatients include those with STEMI, cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, and post-thoracic or CT surgery casesRN-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2Unit features two negative pressure rooms for specialized careEMR system used is EpicIV pumps are Alaris, medication dispensing is Omnicell, and monitoring equipment is PhillipsWeekend shifts are scheduled every other weekendNo on-call requirementFloating may be required to other hospital sites within the Southeast RegionSchedule is based on a six-week cyclePrimary responsibilities include care of acute cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgery patientsSupport available from 24 / 7 Respiratory Therapy and Intensivists, as well as charge nurse and IV / VAT teamOrientation includes system NEO and two days departmental trainingTravelers are expected to work 75% of holidaysUp to 6 days of RTO (excluding holidays) may be approved, but contract must be extended if hours are not metScrub color is navyFree parking is providedFirst-time travelers may be considered, but prior experience is preferred\n \n Requirements\n
Active NC or compact state RN license requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredMinimum two years of recent critical care experience requiredExperience with management of vasoactive medications, chest tubes, surgical drains, ventilators, and CRRTSkills in handling invasive lines including arterial lines, PA catheters, and transvenous pacemakersProficiency with IABP and Impella device managementOne professional reference from a supervisor or charge RN dated within one year is requiredMust provide evidence of recent experience within the last year in the unit specialty\n Benefits\n
