Director, Concepts and Pre-Program Development

Hardware Engineering is a diverse, innovative, and collaborative group of electrical, mechanical, reliability, software and vehicle engineers. We design, build, and perfect the products which are the eyes and ears of Waymo's autonomous driving technology, and integrate those products into vehicle platforms. We're seeking curious and talented teammates to keep us moving in the right direction.

In this role, you will be reporting to the Director of Platform Integration Engineering.

You will :

• Have ownership of whole vehicle architecture, layout and packaging development
• Work on concept feasibility in early / advanced design stage through to vehicle development and OEM liaison
• Partner with peers on the development of unique, customer focused mobility package solutions and ergonomic interior designs for an international customer base
• Lead the geometric development and modeling of the vehicle package architecture (Catia V6 / 3Dx)
• Lead the early property development / physical model / package buck build to allow experiential interaction with the evolving architecture.
• Provide regular updates to the Executive Leadership Team

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Salary Range

$323,000 — $410,000 USD
